Environmental policy

Wildlife & Eco Gardens has a very strong commitment to the environment along with sustainable and ethical business practices. We ensure that all the work we carry out is in accordance to our policies.

Gardens are increasingly important havens
for wildlife as habitats in the wider
countryside shrink and fragment, and
climate change takes its toll.
Up to a quarter of a city’s area can be
made up of gardens, so although each
garden on its own may be small, together
they form a patchwork linking urban green
spaces with nature reserves and the
wider countryside.

Wildlife & Eco Gardens values input, research and articles from organisations such as the Wildlife Trusts, we endeavour to keep up to date with the latest environmental and climate news and incorporate relevant factual information into our environmental policy.

  • Peat: Is a nonrenewable resource, the extraction of which destroys valuable Eco systems and habitats. As such Wildlife & Eco Gardens do not use any peat products.
  • Pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and similar chemicals: Wildlife & Eco Gardens will never use harmful chemicals as part of our work and we will ensure to the best of our abilities that the products we purchase are organic and non-GMO.
  • Zero waste: Wildlife & Eco Gardens aim to be a zero waste business, working towards this goal we follow some simple rules – reduce, reuse, re-purpose, recycle.
  • Building and conserving habitats: Wildlife & Eco Gardens believes in working with nature to ensure the work we carry out does not destroy valuable habitats. We encourage people to include habitats and ecosystems for wildlife in their own gardens.
  • Energy conservation: Wildlife & Eco Gardens will ensure we conserve energy through the use of efficient equipment, manual equipment and incorporating permaculture principles into out design work.
  • Clean energy: Wildlife & Eco Gardens will work to ensuring all of our energy comes from renewable sources such as solar or wind.
